It has been a terribly long time since I have sat down to do anything here. Sorry!
Where do the days go? I have been busy doing the tasks the Lord has given me for this season - being a wife, mother, educator, and trying to keep up with the housework and laundry!
So many tragedies have occurred lately, that I felt moved to write. The girls and I (and Heath) were reading this morning in Psalm 27 and came upon verse 13 which says,
"I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living." (emphasis mine)
And I was reminded of Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
So, in summation, the goodness of the LORD is still with us here in the land of the living. The Holy Spirit is alive and active. There is a day coming that this will not be true. But while it is true, we have hope. Hope that God is working good in the tragic circumstances around us; hope that He is working in the lives of those we know that need him; hope that God is in control and loves us more than we could ever imagine.
So, for today, I will not be afraid. I may be saddened, but I will hold onto the hope I have in Christ and will spend my day looking for His goodness.

Acts of Kindness
Leah's first ministry, "Acts of Kindness", started last weekend. We are so proud of her!! She and her friends, Katelyn and Lily, petitioned their SS class, as well as 2 adult classes for food donations. They had drop-off and packing of boxes on Friday night and distribution on Saturday. 20 families were served.
I was so moved to see so many adults and kids show up on Friday. Some were bringing food; some were helping pack the boxes. I asked Leah what she thought about it all - seeing it all come to reality. She said, "Great. Next time we are going to feed 30!"
This experience humbly reminds me of a verse, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

6 months!!!!
Well, I had a great picture of Heath sitting up that I wanted to post, but I can't locate it on the computer! (I will add it later if I find it.)
Heath is 6 months!!! I can't believe it!
He went for his checkup today and here's what we know:
Height: 26 inches
Weight: 18 lbs.
Head: 18 in.
Point of reference: Ellie weighed 18 lbs at her 18 month checkup!!! Praising the Lord for healthy children. Such a blessing.
PS. Looking back to the 4 month post, it doesn't appear that Heath has grown that much. ? Different nurses, maybe????? Anyway, the doc seemed to think he was doing well. He is trying to cut more teeth. Stan and I will be glad when they are in and Heath will start resting better.

Spring is Near!
Yesterday, the weather actually felt like Spring! So, I put Heath in the exersaucer to enjoy some fresh air. He LOVED being outside. (What little boy doesn't??) Hard to believe he will be 6 months this week!

Happy Birthday, Avery!!
Our niece, Avery, is one!!! Many of you remember the post last year when I announced her birth. God truly worked and answered many prayers on this little lady's behalf. Her heart flap didn't close as it should when she was born. Then, she had a feeding issue. As you can see from these pictures, she is perfectly healthy. God healed her. We know that He has a very special plan for her and her life.
Isn't she adorable? I wish we were closer so we could get to know each other better.

"Heath Man" Update
Well, little "Heathy Beef" has turned 4 months. (The nickname came from my niece who couldn't say "Baby Heath" and said "Hailey Beef", which has turned into "Heathy Beef" at our house.) Anywho, I took him for his checkup yesterday and here's what we know:
15.2 lbs - 75%
26" - a little over 75%
18" head - 90% (all of our kids have had big heads!) no comments, please
We also found out that the little darlin' has 2 red ears - a little uncommon for a nursing baby and probably developing croup! SO, our guess was correct when we travelled to VA last week and thought he would come home sick! So far, he has handled it all ok. So well, in fact, that he scared me to death this am at 4:30 when I awoke and realized he hadn't! I ran into his room to find that he was sleeping easily. I don't know why I was alarmed. I had prayed for God to protect Heath's airways and watch over him just like He had every day since He started forming him in my womb. I guess it's just that God has always answered that prayer in shorter time increments! It's 7:30 and I have had a full day already! Happy Thursday!

"God's Going to Shine in 2009!"
That was our family theme for 2009. So let's review how we saw God shine:
*Stan and I conceived our son, Heath, during our New Year's fast. (sorry if TMI!)
*We saw God act as El Rapha, our Healer, numerous times in 2009. In Feb., He closed my newborn niece's heartflap and also helped her to eat. She is now a perfectly healthy girl. In March, He healed a bleed I had in my uterus. In April, Ellie had an impacted colon, which God healed and allowed us knowledge to manage. In May, I received an "all benign" report on my most recent mole biopsies. In July, we watched God protect a dear friend, Stan T., until the drs. could get his meds under control. Staley had surgery and had no cancer! In Sept., Heath McCoy was born. God answered numerous requests during and after labor for him and me...ex....Heath was turned during labor and Stan prayed and Heath turned the "right" way so he could be born w/o a Csection. My blood pressure dropped and my heart was out of rhythm for a few hours. Stan prayed and God once again answered and healed. In Oct., Ellie fell and required stitches. God protected her teeth and healed her mouth. In Dec., a sweet friend, Stacia, is now cancer-free - many miracles involved in that one!
*We enjoyed Christmas 2008's "Gift of Family" with a trip to Myrtle Beach with the Turner grandparents in May and to TN with all of the Jones family in June.
*Jason P. returned from Iraq in March!
*Ellie prayed for snow here in GA and it did!
*Stan got to go to the Master's (a dream for him!)- FREE!
*Stan was allowed a year of seeing "fruits of his labor" and provision for our family. It never ceases to amaze us that we have what we need, plus an abundance compared to the majority of the world.
*God answered a prayer for the last couple of years for a piano. He did it in a cool way - through my old band director, Mr.V!
*Ellie prayed to receive Christ - and I was with her!!!!
*The girls were provided for by friends during delivery and other times when family isn't here!
*Numerous trips of grandparents back and forth safely.
*We went over #500 in our "Answered Prayers and Blessings" book since we started a couple of years ago. (I am sure there are many more than that, but these are just the ones we have recorded.)
*The girls and I are back at CBS this year!
These are only the highlights of what God did in 2009. He truly did shine! We are full of gratitude for His presence. We are watching expectantly for His hand in our lives during 2010. We hope you will be watching in your life as well!
